FILM SYNOPSIS
"Apnea" tells the story of Teo, a 25-year-old living in Milan who confides in an Artificial Intelligence as he struggles to come out. The AI is his confidante, guiding him through difficult times, but it raises the question: can AI positively impact such a deeply human issue? The story explores the conflict between a repressed identity and the desire for freedom.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Fabio Patrassi was born in Rome in 1990. He graduated with a degree in Cultural Heritage Studies from the University of Milan and in Cinema, Television, and New Media from IULM. He attended the prestigious filmmaking workshop at the New York Film Academy, where he created his first self-produced short films. In 2015, he worked at the Venice International Film Festival while beginning his career as a freelance videomaker and Cameraman (Mediaset, Sky). He is currently a Producer at Sky. He has an extensive portfolio of short films, for which he has received numerous awards. He is consistently dedicated to studying and updating his skills in the field of Cinema, particularly Photography, by attending workshops and training courses with industry professionals (Luca Bigazzi, Italo Petriccione). In 2018, he made the short film "Sara", which won Best Film at the Oxford International Film Festival and the Myframe award at the Myllennium Award in Rome. The awards he received allowed him to collaborate with Rai Cinema and Lotus on the production of his short film Rutunn’, which garnered numerous accolades in Italy and abroad.
