FILM SYNOPSIS
In a quiet corner of the insect world, a young moth named Pedro seeks new wings. He enters a tailor shop run by Patricia, a meticulous spider, who warns him of the risks involved. Despite his fear, Pedro insists, but at the last moment regrets his choice and breaks one of his wings. Moved by guilt, Patricia repairs his wing with silver thread. Pedro then realizes that his unique, mended wings, like a Kintsugi vase, make him special.
DIRECTOR SYNOPSIS
Sascha Schmit: German-French filmmaker graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Production & Publishing in Berlin. In stop-motion, she produced clips for advertising and experimented with different techniques through personal projects. With a background in video editing and a passion for photography and scriptwriting, she is now forging a career as an independent stop-motion artist.
Gabriela Rojas Bustos: Chilean filmmaker graduated from the University of Chile. Her experience in film and audiovisual has focused on Art Direction for short films and Art Assistant for fiction projects. In Stop Motion, she has been involved in the props and character construction department for the Chilean series Puerto Papel and "Zander". She is currently co-directing her first short film that blends 2D animation and stop motion titled 'Yin Yin'.
Andrea León: Mexican filmmaker graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Television from Centro de Diseño, Cine y T.V., CDMX. Her thesis, Las plantas también mueren (2022), is a stop motion animation short in which she participated as a director. Andrea also has experience in the field of photography, serving as Director of Photography in the stop motion animation projects Fayna (2022) and Amanita (2023).
