FILM SYNOPSIS
Alma lives alone in her quaint cottage. We follow her as she navigates everyday life in her old age. Lonely, she takes pleasure in visiting a local farm shop most days. When she starts to unexpectedly develop feelings for the shopkeeper Joan, Alma is confronted with mixed feelings about moving on from her late wife; contemplating going against a promise she made to herself to live the rest of her years alone.

DIRECTOR SYNOPSIS
Lea Felicitas Neumayer is a Vienna-born filmmaker who moved to the UK to study Film Production at the University of Portsmouth. Initially specialising in post-production, her focus soon shifted towards directing.
She first experimented with the short Awake, before making her directing debut with Alma, a contemporary drama exploring grief, love, and queer identity. Lea is often drawn towards intimate dramas that centre around deep feelings and complex characters, primarily through LGBTQ+ and feminist perspectives.
Alongside filmmaking, she has a strong interest in philosophy, which informs her perspective of human experience on screen.
