FILM SYNOPSIS
In Barga, Italy, a palazzo overflowing with paintings becomes a living archive, as contemporary artists reflect on the life, work, and uncertain legacy of a reclusive 20th-century painter.

DIRECTOR SYNOPSIS
James Mackenzie is a filmmaker whose work explores themes of faith, identity, and the queer experience. A graduate of the Loyola Marymount University School of Film & Television, his MFA thesis was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Film Awards. As a fellow of the Film Independent Incubator Lab, he directed his award-winning feature American Zealot. His work has been presented at the Tribeca N.O.W. Creators Market and premiered at festivals including Outfest and the Atlanta Film Festival, with additional screenings at international and Academy Award–qualifying festivals. His films have been featured by Variety, Revry, and WABE/PBS. He is an Associate Professor at the University of North Georgia, where he co-founded the Micro-Budget Narrative Feature Lab.
