FILM SYNOPSIS
Through a series of increasingly desperate phone calls, a mother's world unravels as her gay son is pursued and harassed by his former school bullies.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Welsh writer and director Alexander Williams released his first professional short film, 'Cari', in 2018 and it was recognised at numerous film festivals and earned him the Craft Award for Best Sound at the Royal Television Society Wales Student Awards. The film was also selected for more than twelve domestic and international film festivals, including Carmarthen Bay Film Festival (a BAFTA Cymru-qualifying festival). In 2023, he unveiled his second short film, 'Searching for Lily', and shortly afterwards wrote and directed his third short film, 'Yr Alwad' (The Call), in 2025 with funding from the national broadcaster of Wales, S4C.
