V'S SECRET

Bassma Farah Nancy, a multidisciplinary artist, holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Direction in Cinema and Theater from Fine Arts Helwan University (2017). A graduate of Ramses College For Girls (2012) and Jesuit Cairo Film School (2022), she is a filmmaker, producer, editor, actor, photographer, storyboard artist, singer, and composer.

She’s currently working as media production manager at Magic Eye Productions, the production company which she and her husband Antonious Bassily co-founded. She managed international press guest relations at the 2024 Cairo International Film Festival.

Her debut short film “Sushi with Kebda” won best actor and best sound design awards at Egyptian festivals in 2020. Her latest film, "V’s Secret" (Produced by Jesuit Cairo Film School and distributed by Magic Eye) which won 6 international awards.

V’s Secret has screened at the 45th Durban International Film Festival in South Africa, International Festival of Local Television Golden Beggar in Slovakia (won Best Screenplay Jury Award), 78th Salerno International Film Festival in Italy, 14th Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt, 29th Fespaco in Burkina Faso, 8th Nepal International Film Festival, 1st round Grifo Film Festival in Italy (won the best soundtrack award), 18th Arab Film Festival at Arab American National Museum in Michigan, USA, 17th Short to The Point Film Festival in Romania, 14th Cambodia International Film Festival, first Hollywood African Cinema Connection Festival in Cape Town (Won Founder Weam Williams award), Digital Gate International Film festival (won best photography award to DOP Antonious Bassily) and the 4th Hollywood Arab Film Festival in the USA (Won the Jury Honorable Mention Award), 9th Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival in Canada, 9th Manassat Film Festival in Egypt (won the Audience Award for best student short film), Tiro International Film Festival in Beirut, Lebanon, Trame Independent Film Festival in Tuscany in Italy, Social World Film Festival in Italy, The North film festival in Barcelona, Boulevard Sunset Festival in USA, Long Island International Film Expo (nominated for best actor: Maher Ghandour), Lancilotto Al Cinema Film Festival in Italy, Quibdó África Film Festival in Colombia, Malabo International Music And Film Festival in Equatorial Guinea, Fame Shorts Film Festival in South Africa, Cine Del Mar in Uruguay, Montevideo World Film Festival in Spain, Bantu Film Festival in Botswana, and Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival in Egypt, Helsinki Arab Film Festival in Finland.
